Almost a year ago we reported on the Tanklager West project in western Leipzig. Now we have our first glimpse into the future cultural center with its own club.
From September 13th to 15th, the Tanklager West on Plautstrasse will open its doors and present its ambitious plans as well as the impressive, listed architecture of a former mineral oil warehouse. This is exactly where the ost:end crew will soon find their new and long-term club home.
A look at the Tanklager West website already reveals that the project is thinking much bigger. In addition to the club, the 10,000 square meter area with several buildings is also intended to offer other clubs and initiatives from the fields of art, construction, crafts and the circular economy a vibrant and safe place to develop, try out and further develop.
Together with Ost&Found eV and friendly projects, the West tank farm is now opening for a whole weekend for the first time. Under the motto “Past, present & future – 100 years of tank farm”, there is a program of theater, music, art, cinema and several panel discussions.
