Lady Gaga revealed a new trailer for Joker: Madness for Two facing the release in cinemas on October 4th of this year.

The sequel features the return of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck/Joker, and the debut of Gaga as Harley Quinn, who in this Joker-verse of Todd Phillipsto his incarnation of the popular character is known as Lee.

Posted on all her official social networks, Gaga unveiled to the audience this trailer titled “That’s Life”in which we hear the actress interpreting her version of, precisely, That’s Lifeby Frank Sinatra, which sounds spectacular alongside the images shown.

The trailer shows Lee visiting Arthur in prison, to tell him that everyone outside is crazy about him. “They are saying that you are a bad influence on me”Lee voices the Joker, but she doesn't seem to care much. “Let's build a mountain”Lee says.

The images include reactions from critics who had the opportunity to see the sequel during its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

There's no denying that the film's photography looks truly spectacular. The trailer is available at the end of this article.

The sequel It will have musical elements and is set in Arkham Asylumwhich is where the first film ends after Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) was sent there. The acclaimed JOKER (2019) by Phillips, follows Arthur Fleck and his journey to become the clown of crime, serving as the origin story of the iconic villain, developing its plot in Gotham City in the 80s.

Phillips returns as co-writer and director. He co-wrote the script with Scott Silverhis coguionist in Joker (2019).

In addition to Phoenix and Gaga, the main cast includes Zazie Beetz reprising her role as Sophie Dumond, with the new additions of Catherine Keener (Get Out, The 40 Year Old Virgin), Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges, Harry Potter), Jacob Lofland (Mud), y Harry Lawtey (Industry).

The Motion Picture Association (MPA) awarded Joker 2 the R rating by:

“Some strong violence, constant language, some sexuality and brief total nudity.”

This is the same rating as the original film, Joker (2019), although for different reasons: “strong bloody violence, disturbing behavior, brief sexual language and images.”

Warner Bros. releases Joker: Madness for Two in theaters October 4, 2024.
