Del Toro previously shared about this project:
“It's a movie that I wanted to do for 50 years since I saw the first Frankenstein. I had an epiphany, and it is basically a movie. That required a lot of growth and many tools that could not have done 10 years ago. Now I am braver or crazy enough or something crazy enough, and we are going to address it. ”
The film marks a new collaboration between Del Toro and the renowned composer Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water, Pinocchio) who is taking care of the soundtrack.

Gothic literary work Frankenstein or the modern Prometheus from Shelley, was published in January 1818, whose history addresses issues such as “Scientific morals, the creation and destruction of life and the daring of humanity in their relationship with God. From there, the subtitle of the work: the protagonist tries to rival in power with God, as a kind of modern Prometheus that snatches the sacred fire of life from divinity. Although Frankenstein is impregnated with elements of the Gothic novel and the romantic movement, there are those who argue that this should be considered the first true story of science fiction” (via Wikipedia).
