Daniel Craig It is no longer part of the DC Studios project, Sgt. Rockwhich would mark the actor's debut in DC Comics.

The feature film of the superhero genre was going to gather Craig with its director of Queer, Luca Guadagnino. The script was written by Justin Kuritzkesscreenwriter of the same Queer, and of Challengers, both of Guadagnino.

According to THR, the reasons for Craig's departure of the project were not detailed.

DC hopes to shoot the film this summer at its Operations Center in the United Kingdom and has already announced that it will look for other actors, with Jeremy Allen White (The Bear), emerging as one of the main candidates to keep the paperl.

Synopsis:

“Follow the American sergeant of World War II, Frank Rock, which leads its infantry unit, Easy Company, through several battles throughout Europe and, finally, achieves victory against enemy forces.”

Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert created the character Sergeant Rock whose debut in the comedians was in 1959. He is described as a hard leader as a rock of the Easy company. The exploits of the unit delight readers for decades as one of the longest -duration books.

This will be the debut of the character on a big screen. Previously, the story with high profile actors such as Arnold Scharzenegger and Bruce Willis, with nothing concrete.

Jeremy Allen White is the main candidate to assume the leading role in 'SGT. Rock'.
