On May 23, 2025, the billboard is renewed with proposals that explore family, identity and society from very different perspectives. They stand out Full men by Alejandro Andrade, a Mexican drama about the awakening and the contradictions of the elite; The turtles by Belén Funes, which portrays the hardness of emigration and family ties; A good father by Ronan Trophot, who addresses the dilemma of a priest before paternity; and An unexpected function From Tony Goldwyn, where Robert De Niro accompanies a family looking for his place in the world.
Full men (Alejandro Andrade, 2024)
The second length of Alejandro Andrade, a talented Mexican director formed in Spain, is a mature, sensitive, thoughtful work. The story adopts Alf's point of view, a young man in the last year of high school from an elite Catholic school that is attracted to Oliver. But it is not just a complaint of inveterate machismo or homophobia, as still present in sectors as reflected, but also a critical portrait of corruption and political power of the upper class thanks to the money that buys wills and silences. Far from all Manichaeism, it is proposed that any chance can lead us to commit a crime. Remarkable.
The turtles (Belén Funes, 2025)

The title comes from the nickname they received, decades ago, the emigrants of villages of Jaén who sought fortune in Catalonia. Some of them, like lAs protagonists of this story, they end up expelled from their apartment for rent, which shows the bitter face of that emigration. But the film also talks about the feeling of orphanhood and the always complex relationship with the children. The emotion prevails over the interesting documentary bias (olive collection, taxi drivers); The script lacks dramatic development, but director Belén Funes is brilliant behind the camera and her work breathes authenticity at all times.
A good father (Ronan Tronchot, 2024)

With a treatment close to the television film focused on a theme, this piece also has some chronicle and vindication. Simon is a priest who, suddenly, finds out that he is the father of an 11 -year -old boy, who first entails lies and then the moral dilemma about his continuity as a cure. The historical claim of married priests charges here a particular bias: paternity must be compatible with the parish. Before the Council of the Bishopric Simon defends his position and the need for the Church to open to a more plural reality. A small film, at elementary, well -intentioned times, which looks good for delicacy and realism in the way of addressing the subject.
An unexpected function (Tony Goldwyn, 2023)

At half an hour abandoned this drama with comedy trim about a family with an autistic child whom his father does not want to school in a special center. Everything is very well -intentioned and the script seeks a certain exoticism – the father makes comedy monologues in bars – but the treatment is flat. Perhaps it opens in Salas (so saturated) because Robert De Niro acts as a grandfather, but at this point we have proven that De Niro no longer selects any project.
