'Practical Magic 2' announces cast; Includes Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing returns

The production of the sequel Practical Magic 2 of Warner Bros. is already underway, and the novelties from the filming set are noticed.

The study announced the returns of the Oscar winner, Dianne Wiest and from the Oscar nominated, Stockard Channingadding to the return of the protagonists Sandra Bullock y Nicole Kidman (Via Deadline).

Wiest and Channing repeat their roles such as the cunning and eccentric Aunt Jet and Aunt Fanny, respectively, who raised Sally (Bullock) and Gillian (Kidman) after the death of their parents, and taught them everything they know about magic, tricks, and independence.

The new delivery will follow up on the events of the original romance and fantasy film of 1998, Practical Magicunder the direction of Susanne bees (Bird Box), and script written by Akiva Goldsman –Which co -written the original– and Georgia Pritchett (Succession).

Bullock and Kidman produce the sequel with Denise Di Novi, producer of the original.

In addition to the announcement of Wiest and Channing, the cast revealed the signings of new faces such as Joey King (Bullet Train, The Kissing Booth) playing one of Sally's daughters (Bullock), Lee Pace (Foundation), Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle), y Solly McLeod (The Dead Don’t Hurt).

There are no details of the papers in charge of this newly confirmed group, or the plot.

We are delighted to bring back the Owens family to the big screen with Joey, Lee, Maisie, Solly and Xolo, who joins the next chapter of our history. He has inspired to present the following installment of the History of the Owens to the new fans and who have accompanied us from the beginning. ”

The project marks a new collaboration between Bier and its protagonists; Bier directed Bullock in the horror thriller, Bird Boxfrom Netflix, already Kidman in the series The Undoing of HBO and The Perfect Couple The Netflix.

The original 1998 tape, entitled in our market as Love spellfollow two sisters, Sally (Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Kidman), which come from a long line of witches. Orphaned at an early age, they are raised by their eccentric aunts (Wiest and Channing), who embrace their magical inheritance. However, the Owens family is cursed: any man who falls in love with an Owens woman is doomed to premature death.

Sally and Gillian fight with their powers and the consequences of family curse. Sally tries to lead a normal life, distancing himself from magic, but the tragedy ensues when her husband dies. Gillian, on the other hand, lives a wild life and takes advantage of his magical skills. The sisters get involved in an event where they fight to break the family curse.

Griffin Dunne directed her. The script adapted from Alice Hoffman's 1995 novel. The rest of the cast was made up of Ev Rachel Wood, Goran Visnjic, Mark Feuerstein, and Aidan Quinn.

The film accumulated more than $ 68 million in the world box office.
