It took a long time, but now there is an appointment for the reopening of the Distillery – and you will learn it with us first. In our Hey Hey Podcast, “Tille” operator Steffen Kache gives a few insights into the new location and the difficult path to reopening.
At the end of May 2023, the second Distillery era on Kurt-Eisner-Straße ended. It was clear relatively quickly: it should continue on a new interim location-not far away, on the edge of Hall 7 at the old trade fair. But in the end of the originally half a year it has become more than two years. And the interim idea also seems to be obsolete, because a possible move of the distillery to the track triangle is still delayed by a more than a decade (yes, correctly read).
But now there is light on the horizon: there is a reopening appointment, new ideas and opportunities and some things to tell. For this special edition of our Hey Hey podcast, our Frohfroh-Host Sebastian met with Falk from Sound of Leipzig for the joint interview with Steffen. He has accompanied the Leipzig club scene-and especially the Distillery-with its social media channels for many years and has launched the interview with Steffen Kache. Thank you for that.
