He Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has selected 55 films for its Centrepiece program, for the 50th edition of the Festival.
The projects are a “global sample of the captivating cinema around the world,” according to the information shared by the TIFF.
This year, Centrepiece will celebrate 19 world premieres, including that of the romantic thriller of crime, Carolina Carolineof the director Adam Carter Rehmeier (Dinner In America), starring Samara Weaving (Ready Or Not, Scream VI), y Kyle Gallner (Strange Darling, Scream 5, Smile).
The official Tiff site describes it like this:
“With the moving charm of Jonathan Edwards's song that bears his name, Carolina Caroline It is a sweet and elegant road movie About a woman who yearns to find herself. Upon finding love, Banks begins to steal. ”
The rest of the cast includes Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) y Jon Gries (The White Lotus).
The film tells the story of a young woman (Weaving) who leaves her little town in search of her mother (Sedgwick), from whom she is distanced, along with a charismatic scammer (gallner) who flees from the law. The duo leaves behind a wave of crime and passion while rushing to tour the southeast.
Rehmeier directed the script of Tom Dean. The filming was made in Kentucky in 2024.
Stephen Braun, Tim and Trevor White, Eric B. Fleischman and Chris Abernathy are the producers, with Jan Mcadoo, Brittany Kahan Ward and Trent Hubbard as executive producers.
Carolina Caroline marks a new collaboration between the director and Gallner, an actor who starred in Dinner In America (2021) of Rehmeier. Braun and Fleischman produced said film.
