We already have the first eyes to the thriller The Housemaidthe film adaptation based on the homonymous bestseller of Freida McFadden, of the study Lionsgate and the director Paul Feig (A Simple Favor).

In official images shared by Peoplewe see the main cast, made up of Sydney Sweeney (Immaculate, Anyone But You) y Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!, The Dropout), also Brandon Sklenar (It Ends With Us, 1923) y Michele Morrone (365 Days, Another Simple Favor).

Elizabeth Perkins (Another Simple Favor, The Afterparty), Megan Ferguson (reboot Gossip Girl), y Ellen Tamaki (Manifest) Complete the cast.

Feig directs the script of Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys).

In an interview with the media, Feig says about chemistry between Sweeney and Seyfried, it is “Simply incredible. Both have incredible talent and complement each other so well that you immediately immerse yourself in their world on screen.”

Official synopsis:

“In the movie, Sweeney will play Millie, a woman who trying to escape her past and restart her life, relieved to start again as a domestic employee of Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Sklenn), a wealthy and high -class couple. Soon discover that family's secrets are much more dangerous than her own.”

McFadden's novel has been on the New York Times Betsellers list for more than a year (75 weeks), and in Amazon's best selling for more than 98 weeks. He also broke a record of 500 million pages read in Kindle and is the second most read title on the tenth anniversary of Kindle, only behind the series of Harry Potter. It has sold more than 3.6 million copies in English and has been translated into 40 languages.

Sweeney states that Millie is exactly “the type of character that I love to interpret: complex, strong and with a special touch. I am looking forward to fans to see the effort we made to give life to The Housemaid.”

Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures produces the feature film with Feig and Laura Fischer de Feigco. Sweeney and Seyfried are executive producers with Alex Young and McFadden.

The Housemaid It opens in Cinemas on December 19, 2025.
