After a series of mysterious and short promos, Apple TV+ finally revealed the official teaser trailer of Severalthe new series of Vince Gilliganstarring Rhea Seehorn.
The television project keeps the audience in expectation, as it is the latest from Gilligan, the creator of the acclaimed series Breaking Bad and its spinoff Better Call Saul.
Seehorn stars in the sci-fi drama as Carolin a new collaboration with Gilligan, after having starred Better Call Saul. Gilligan claims to have written the role of Carol exclusively for Seehorn.
Several is described as a series that “breaks with the genre in which the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.”
Carol Sturka (Seehorn), is a best-selling author of historical romance novels who is on a book tour in Albuquerque, New Mexico, when something mysterious affects the population: a virus that leaves everyone happy and optimistic 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Upon discovering that she is immune, Carol sets out on a journey in search of answers, although Gilligan previously teased that “there will be complications that come from that.”
The teaser shows Carol seemingly being served by the rest of the world's population, who, in fact, have been affected by the scourge of happiness. We are not made clear why Carol is unaffected by what has changed the world, but everyone seems hell-bent on fixing it so she can “join” them. Carol, naturally, is very confused and upset. It's all very disturbing, but it seems like the series will balance the situation with dark humor.

Gilligan said that this character is very different from the one Seehorn played in Better Call Saulsaying that, “She plays someone who is trying really hard to be good. She's a bit of a damaged hero, but a hero nonetheless..”
And for fans of Breaking Bad y Better Call SaulGilligan revealed that there will be some easter eggs:
“There might be a couple if you're paying attention. 'Breaking Bad' and 'Better Call Saul' fans, if they pay attention, might come across an Easter egg or two.”.
In addition to Seehorn, the cast includes Karolina Wydra (Sneaky Pete), Carlos-Manuel Vesga (Wherever you want), Miriam Shor (American Fiction), Samba Schutte (Our Flag Means Death) y Jennifer Bravo.
This is Gilligan's first series since the conclusion of Better Call Saul in 2022. It will also be another of the original science fiction proposals of Apple TV+, which this year already launched new seasons of Severance, Foundatione Invasion.

The series premieres on Friday, November 7 on Apple TV+with the release of its first three episodes. The remaining seven episodes will air one by one each Friday until the season finale on December 26.
