del Toro's dream project presents its final trailer, which focuses not only on showing the great technical level of the production – from its set design, photography and costume design – but also on revealing a Victor Frankenstein, played by Oscar Isaac (Moon Knight, Ex Machina), overwhelmed by the moral dilemmas of having created Frankenstein's Monster, played by Jacob Elordi (Euphoria, Priscilla).

In the trailer, Victor Frankenstein is in a shop in a frozen panorama, awaiting the arrival of the creature he created, and which now stalks him. We have the opportunity to take a look at what the creation of this creature was like, and the existential questions that contemplate the most human side.

In this new adaptation of Mary Shelley's 1818 literary classic, Isaac's Dr. Victor Frankenstein, He is a brilliant but selfish scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment. which ultimately leads to the ruin of both the creator and his tragic creation. Victor's relationship with his father is different from Shelley's.

Many of the critics who have already had the opportunity to enjoy the project on the big screen are calling this version by del Toro the best adaptation of Mary Shelley's literary work.

In addition to Isaac and Elordi, the film stars Mia Goth (X, Pearl), in dual roles as Elizabeth Lavenza, Victor's fiancée, and Claire Frankenstein, Victor's mother, Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds) as Heinrich Harlander, and Felix Kammerer (All Quiet on the Western Front) as William Frankenstein.

Other cast members are Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Ralph Ineson (The Witch, The First Omen) in an “essential” cameo as Professor Krempe, Lars Mikkelsen (The Witcher), David Bradley (Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio) y Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth).

Del Toro has dedicated more than a decade to this adaptation that he calls a passion project. In Tudum, del Toro described it in the following way:

“The culmination of a journey that occupied most of my life. Monsters have become my personal belief system. There are traces of Frankenstein in my films.”

Del Toro is the screenwriter, director and producer. Filming was carried out under the working title Prodigal Father.

The film marks a new collaboration between del Toro and the renowned composer Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water, Pinocchio) who is taking charge of the soundtrack.

The producers are del Toro, Gary Ungar (The Strain, Pinocchio, Cabinet of Curiosities), J. Miles Dale, and Scott Stuber.

Frankenstein celebrated its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, where it received a pleasant reception from the critics present. It was later screened at the Telluride Film Festival and TIFF.

Released in some theaters on October 17 (USA), the October 23 (Mexico)and in Netflix worldwide on November 7.
