The successful relaunch of Bad Boys with its most recent delivery, Bad Boys For Lifereleased in theaters in 2024, has given Sony Pictures the confidence necessary to revive another of its franchises.
According to Deadline reportsthe studio has launched the development of a new film in his comedy and science fiction franchise, Men In Black. This would be the fifth installment.
Chris Bremnerscreenwriter of Bad Boys For Lifeis writing the script. At the moment no cast member has been secured, although it is planned that Will Smith Be the first to receive the script once Bremner completes it.
It is expected that Smith will return, reprising his role as Agent J.
The source clarifies, “It's unknown how the character will be introduced, whether it will be a leading role or more of a supporting or torch-passing role like we've seen in movies like Creed, but the plan is to have the character back in the first draft. Smith is not attached to the project and won't commit to anything until he's read a script.”

As for Bremner, the screenwriter has become a reference screenwriter after writing the last two films of Bad Boyswhich grossed more than $800 million at the global box office.
