“What happened to Tommy Shelby, the famous gypsy gangster?”
Christmas came early for all fans of Peaky Blinderssince Netflix shared the first official preview of the film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Manwhich will continue the story portrayed in the acclaimed series.
The film features the return of the series creator Steven Knightas a screenwriter, Tom Harper as director, and that of the protagonist Cillian Murphy reprising his iconic role as Tommy Shelby.
Murphy led the cast of the gangster drama for six seasons broadcast between 2013 and 2022. The first season (2013) was broadcast by BBC, gaining international popularity after being acquired by Netflix in the fall of 2014, for distribution outside the United Kingdom.
The series Peaky Blinders tells the story of Tommy Shelby (Murphy), and his family's rise to prominence and power, set against the backdrop of post-World War I working class Birmingham.
In the film adaptation, the plot will be set during World War II, with Tommy Shelby being forced out of exile.

The official synopsis of the film is as follows:
“Birmingham, 1940. In the midst of the chaos of World War II, Tommy Shelby is forced to return from self-imposed exile to face his worst reckoning. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must confront his own demons and choose between confronting his legacy or burning it to the ground.”
Other cast members from the series returning for the film include Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ian Peck, Ned Dennehyy Packy Lee.
The new additions are Barry Keoghan (saltburn, the banshees of inesherin), Rebecca Ferguson (Silo, Dune trilogy) y Tim Roth (Poison, Chronic).
Knight produces the feature film alongside Murphy, Patrick Holland and Guy Heeley. Executive producers include Harper, Caryn Mandabach, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, and Andrew Warren.
Previously, Knight revealed that Netflix will give the film Peaky Blinders, a premiere limited in US theaters.
“I want this to happen in theaters so people can sit there together and watch this happen,” Knight said.
The film will reach select US theaters on March 6, 2026and the March 20 will debut on Netflix worldwide.
