Slasher sequel 'In a Violent Nature 2' will hit theaters in February 2027

Independent Film Company (IFC) y Shudder They announced through social networks that The sequel will hit theaters on February 12, 2027. In the publication, accompanied by a promotional image, they said:

“More blood will be spilled. Johnny returns for In a Violent Nature Part 2; in theaters February 12.”

The sequel, announced in July 2025, and which will be titled Of a violent nature 2 in our region, promised to “show that Johnny can be bigger, more cruel and that his murders can only be more impressive,” according to statements by Scott Shooman, director of the AMC Networks film group, owner of Shudder.

The stakes have been raised then, with the return of Ry Barrett as Johnnya vengeful undead assassin who embarks on a bloody massacre after a group of teenagers steal a golden locket that awakens his spirit:

“In the second film, Johnny heads to summer camp, where he crosses paths with a young outcast camper who is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at their annual end-of-season party.”

Emerged as one of the most acclaimed proposals at the 2024 Sundance Festival, one of the selling points of the first installment, titled in Latin America as Violent in nature and described as an environmental horror film, was to tell the plot from the point of view of the murderer rather than that of his victims, causing fury and expectation not only by following Johnny's POV, but by using practical effects, and a particularly imaginative death.

In the sequel we will be able to follow both the POV of the murderer and his victims.

In addition to Barrett returning, the cast includes Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven, Laurie Babin, Fionn Laird, Donald MacLean Jr.y Evan Marsh.

The sequel's producers are Nash, Peter Kuplowsky, Sharon Hanmer and Michael James Regan.
