There will be Ocean’s Fourteen.
The popular franchise Ocean’s not only prepares a prequel, but a new sequelcon the return of many original members.
In an interview with Variety, George Clooney confirmed the “plans to revive Ocean's Eleven”18 years after the release of Ocean’s Thirteen (2007).
Clooney revealed to the outlet which members of the cast are already secured for the reboot, in addition to giving the first details about the plot.
Clooney, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt y Don Cheadle are confirmed to reprise their roles as Danny Ocean, Tess Ocean, Linus Caldwell, Rusty Ryan, and Basher Tarr, respectively, in the next installment, playing an older, but wiser band.
The plot will be inspired by the movie Going in Stylea 1979 comedy by Martin Brest, about a group of aging criminals. Clooney wants explore what it's like to carry out a heist when you're no longer young or agile.
The actor shares with Variety:
“There was something about the idea that we're too old to do what we did before, but we're still smart enough to know how to get our way, that just appeals to me. They've lost their rhythm and need to find a way around their limitations.”
Right now they are looking for locations, and They hope to begin filming in October 2026.
David Leitch (The Fall Guy) is in talks to join as director of the sequel.
Ocean’s Eleven from 2001 was based on the 1960 film of the same name, starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Buddy Lester, Cesar Romero and Angie Dickinson. The film followed a group of con artists and thieves who devised a plan to rob a Las Vegas casino.
Steven Soderbergh directed the film from a script by Ted Griffin. The commercial success ($450.7 million against a budget of $85 million) paved the way for two sequels released in 2004 and 2007. In 2018 the spinoff was launched Ocean’s 8with an all-female cast led by Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter. Bullock played Debbie Ocean, sister of Danny Ocean.
The franchise also has a prequel in development, starring Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper, and Benicio del Toro in talks to join the cast. Lee Isaan Chung will direct the script by Carrie Solomon, whose plot is set after the events of the 2001 film.
