The first trailer of the drama Couture of Alice Winocourshows what appears to be another great performance by its protagonist, Angelina Jolie.
Described as “a powerful and intimate journey of self-reflection and resilience set against the electric backdrop of Paris Fashion Week”, Couture follows an American filmmaker named Maxine Walker, played by Jolie, who arrives in Paris during Fashion Week.
The story focuses on her personal journey as she travels around the city and enters the world of fashion. Instead of glorifying designers and luxury, the film focuses on the people who really work behind the scenes..

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
“American filmmaker Maxine arrives in Paris for Fashion Week on a life-or-death journey in which she faces challenges and self-discovery.”
Winocour writes and directs the project, which marks his fifth feature film behind the lens.

The filmmaker has stated on previous occasions her intention of wanting to show fashion from a female and working-class perspective, rather than the usual focus on famous creative directors.
The feature film was announced at the end of 2024 under the title Stitchesand renamed to Couture at the beginning of 2025.
Couture celebrated its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2025, screened in the Special Presentations section. It was later screened in San Sebastián, Rome, and QCinema. Critics praise Jolie's performance as one of the best of her career.
