DGA Awards 2026: Directors Guild announces film nominees

He Directors Guild of America (Directors Guild Awards; DGA) revealed on Thursday to his nominees in the film categories of the DGA Award 2026the best of the year 2025.

The edition 78 of the DGA Award nominated favorites of this awards season such as the case of Paul Thomas Anderson by One Battle After Another, Chloe Zhao by Hamnet, Guillermo del Toro by Frankenstein, Josh Safdie by Marty Supreme y Ryan Coogler by Sinnersnominated in the category of Outstanding Achievement as a Director in a Motion Picture.

This is the first DGA nomination for Coogler and Safdie for Marty Supremethe second for Zhao and del Toro, and the third for Anderson.

Zhao won the DGA in 2021 for Nomadlandwhich was later crowned with the Oscar for Best Picture; del Toro won it in 2018 for The Shape of Wateralso winner of the Oscar for Best Picture. Anderson was previously nominated for There Will Be Blood y Licorice Pizzaalthough he has not won it yet. PTA has just won the Critics Choice for Best Director at last Sunday's ceremony.

The directors nominated for Best First Film or First Feature are Ava Victor by Sorry, Baby, Hasan Hadi by The President’s Cake, Harry Lihgton by Pillion, Charlie Polinger by The Plaguey Alex Russell by Lurker.

Last year, Sean Baker won the DGA for Best Directorial Achievement for Anorawhich later won the Oscars for Best Director and Best Picture; RaMell Ross took home the award for Best First Feature for her film Nickel Boys.

Los DGA 202 Awards6 will be delivered on saturday February 7, 2026 desde The Beverly Hilton en Beverly Hills, California.
