Brazil beats Costa Rica in the first friendly of the year

Brazil had an intense start, had a scare, but did not let the result slip away: they beat Costa Rica 5-2, this Friday (27), at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium, in Alajuela, in the first friendly of the year. The Seleção scored with Kerolin, Adriana, Jheniffer (2x) and Tainá Maranhão, and Chinchilla found the net for the Costa Ricans.

Brazil returns to the field next Wednesday, March 4th, at 6pm, when it faces Venezuela at the Mexican Football Federation Training Center, in Toluca, and, to close the series, it will face Mexico at the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium, in Mexico City, on March 7th, at 8pm.

The team has a good first half and beats Costa Rica

The team led by Data Fifa started pressing high and almost opened the scoring in the first minute, when Tainá crossed from the left and Jheniffer deflected it to Solera's defense. The answer came in the form of constant pressure: Kerolin was scared with a low free kick, and Brazil piled up chances until turning the volume into an advantage.

At 10 minutes, the first Brazilian goal in 2026 came. Duda Sampaio found a precise pass for Kerolin, who showed skill by playing for coverage as the goalkeeper left: 1-0. The goal gave even more confidence to the green and yellow team, who continued on top. Three minutes later, Tainá made a great individual play on the left, invaded the area and rolled back. Jheniffer appeared as a surprise element and finished first to expand.

With 2-0 on the scoreboard, Brazil kept the pace. Tainá, very participative, almost scored the third at 17, with a strong shot that went close to the post. Bia Zaneratto also had a good opportunity when she turned to her left leg and finished dangerously. The pressure was constant, with ball steals in the offensive field and quick movement around the sides.

In the 27th minute, Tainá Maranhão crowned the great performance.
