Almi «Steam» – I always think it’s nice when I can introduce a completely new band here on the blog, and ideally with their very first single. I recently came across the trio Almi (digitally) and their song “Vapor” immediately impressed me. As is the extremely professional video for such a small band (less than 400 subscribers on YouTube). The sound is very groovy, a little funky, a little retro, but also modern. Definitely a very cool thing and I'm very excited to see how their careers develop further.
Lana Del Rey «White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter» – anything but new to the music scene is of course Lana, who played a key role in my listening to music for many years. Her forays into country lately haven't really caught my attention, but her new song (a harbinger of the upcoming album “Stove”) with the obscure title is finally interesting again. Very crazy, anything but easy-to-digest radio fare. I really hope the song is representative of the album.
