OddRe: «Revival» – I always hesitate about which bands I should introduce here in the blog. Since I discovered Japan, the flood of cool new acts has become so large that I can only present a tiny fraction here anyway. Today I want to recommend an up-and-coming young trio that recently went from indie to major band: OddRe: (with a colon at the end). Their style is difficult to describe, it's definitely (indie) rock, but also funky elements and a little pop. The new single is a great example of this; it is their debut on the larger Idori Records label.
New German Cinema «Swirling Pain» – despite the name, NGC is a British project that plays classic indie pop influenced by shoegaze sounds. The debut album «“Pain Will Polish Me” was released a few days ago.
