Beet jam pairs wonderfully with breads, toast, cheeses, meats, and much more.

Ingredients

  • 180 g grated beetroot

  • 250 ml orange juice

  • 50 g sugar

  • 60 ml vinegar

  • 60 ml liquid pectin

  • 1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes

Directions

  • Add the grated beetroot, orange juice, vinegar, sugar, and crushed red pepper flakes to a saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the liquid reduces and the beetroot becomes tender.
  • Add the liquid pectin and continue cooking, stirring well, until the beetroot pieces come together and the syrup thickens.
  • Remove the beet jam from the heat, let it cool, and transfer it to a glass jar with a lid.
  • Store the jam in the refrigerator and enjoy it with meats, cheeses, breads and toast, pancakes, yogurt, and much more.
