Apple TV revealed the official trailer from the anticipated original miniseries, Luckystarring and executive produced by Anya Taylor-Joy (Furiosa, The Queen’s Gambit).

The miniseries, based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Marissa Stapley, centers on con artist Lucky (Taylor-Joy), who is forced to go on the run when a multimillion-dollar heist goes wrong. Pursued by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss, Lucky must fight for her life and find a way out.

The main cast also includes Annette Bening (Nyad, The Report), Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (Nickel Boys, King Richard), Timothy Olyphant (Alien: Earth, Fargo), Drew Starkey (Queer, Outer Banks), Clifton Collins Jr. (Train Dreams), y William Fichtner (Beef).

Jonathan Tropper (See, Your Friends & Neighbors) is the screenwriter, creator, and co-showrunner of Lucky. Cassie Pappas (Silo, Griselda) is the other coshowrunner.

Stapley's novel is a New York Times bestseller, and was part of the American Book Club selection. Reese Witherspoonin 2021. Witherspoon's company, Hello Sunshine, produces the series alongside Apple Studios.

Executive producers are Taylor-Joy for Ladykiller, Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, Tropper, Pappas, and Jonathan van Tullekenwho also directed the pilot.

Filming took place in Las Vegas and Los Angeles during the first quarter of 2025.

The miniseries marks Taylor-Joy's second project with Apple, after starring in the feature film The Gorge (2025). It marks a new partnership between Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine and Apple TV+, after The Morning Show, The Last Thing He Told Me, Truth Be Toldy Surface.

Lucky will premiere worldwide on Apple TV with the first two episodes on Wednesday July 15followed by new episodes every Wednesday until August 19.
