It begins in 2016, when a shooting occurs in the small rural town of Rushville, Nebraska. However, the local authority, Sheriff Kerry (Kelly Macdonald), finds no evidence to support that claim.
In addition to Pierre, Chandler and Macdonald, the cast includes Nicole Ari Parker as Bernadette, John Stewart's mother, Ulrich Thomsen like the villain Sinister, Poorna Jagannathan like Zoe, and Garry Dillahunt like the modern cowboy William Macon.
