Peacock debuted on first full trailer of Crystal Lakethe highly anticipated prequel series Friday the 13thproduced together with A24and starring Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me, The Curse of La Llorona) as Mrs. Pamela Voorhees. The production marks the return of the horror franchise, after an absence of seventeen years.
The series is scheduled to premiere on the streamer on October 15.
The trailer begins by showing Pamela Voorhees in 1971, transporting the audience to the mother's life before the events of the first film. Friday the 13th (1980). This includes the drowning of his son, Jason, and the consequences it had on his life: specifically, his descent into a spiral of murder driven by the thirst for revenge after the incident.
Although the preview includes some disturbing images, it appears that Peacock is saving the scariest moments for the series premiere.

The horror series is described as a “expanded prequel” to the original classicwhich will transport the audience to the beginning of it all, exploring the origins from Camp Crystal Lake and Pamela Voorheesbut Sra. VoorheesJason's mother and the original killer in Friday the 13ththe movie that started it all in 1980.
The plot takes place before the accident that turned Jason into the killer we all know and fear.
Ms. Voorhees' role is detailed as “a mother who gave up her singing career to raise a child with special needs and who takes a dark turn when she loses her little one.”
Callum Vinson (God of War, Chucky, Long Bright River) plays little Jason Voorhees.
Brad Caleb Kane (IT: Welcome to Derry) is the showrunner, creator, screenwriter and executive producer.
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
“A prequel to the Friday the 13th saga, this series follows Pam Voorhees, a single mother who has not been able to overcome the pain after the tragic drowning death of her young and sick son, Jason, in the town lake almost a year earlier. When two strangers arrive at Pam's door looking into her past, a disturbing chain of events is unleashed that leaves the inhabitants of Crystal Lake wondering: Who really is Pam Voorhees?”

The rest of the cast includes William Catlett (Abigail), Devin Kessler (Godfather of Harlem), Cameron Scoggins (Nashville), Gwendolyn Sundstromcon Nick Cordileone (Warrior) como Crazy Ralph, Danielle Kotch (Director’s Cut) as Claudette and Phoenix Parnevik (Bel Air) like Barry, characters from the original film, Nancy Nagrant as Kay Christy, a relative of Steve Christy from the original installment, and Joy Suprano (Fleishman is in Trouble) as Rita.
After years of a highly publicized legal battle over the rights to the IP, and uncertainty regarding its future, the franchise returns to the screen with the prequel series executive produced by Kane alongside Victor Miller –writers of the original film– Marc Toberoff, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian and Stuart Manashil.
The series was announced in November 2022. Peacock ordered a full season for the series, with an option for a second season.
The first season, 8 episodesis directed by Michael Lennox (Derry Girls), Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake) y Quyen Tran (The Pitt). Lennox directs the first episode with Maceo Bishop (The Watcher) as director of photography.
Crystal Lake will be broadcast on Peacock in the United States, with a premiere date scheduled for October 15, 2026.
The trailer also confirms that Crystal Lake will be broadcast by the streamer Universal+ in Mexico and the rest of Latin Americawith premiere scheduled for October 16one day after its US release.
