This week it was officially announced that Glee of Ryan Murphywill have a reboot with a home on Disney+ and Hulu.

Murphy has been in contact with several members of the original cast who could return for the reboot, and it seems two more of them are ready to say yes. We talk about Heather Morris y Chord Overstreetwho are holding talks to reprise their roles in this new version, according to Deadline's report.

Morris played the cheerful and somewhat clueless Brittany, while Overstreet played Sam Evans, a student who transferred to William McKinley High School, where he joined the football team and the New Directions singing club.

Both would be joining Lea Michelewho will be reprising her role as Rachel Berry. “She joins in,” a source told Variety. “It's still early, but things are looking good and we are happy to get the group back together.”

Earlier this week, Disney+ and Hulu announced the production of the reboot of the popular and beloved musical tragicomedy Glee.

Details at the moment are scarce; Disney has simply revealed that The series is being produced by 20th Television and will air on Hulu and Disney+.

The script for the reboot was written by Murphy along with his frequent collaborators, Brad Falchuk e Ian Brennan. The trio co-created the original series.

The series, released on Fox in 2009, followed the members of New Directions, a school choir from Lima, Ohio, as they navigated the ups and downs of high school and coming of age in college. After six seasons and 121 episodes on the air, Glee concluded in 2015. The series became an absolute major cultural phenomenon, remembered especially for the direct – and sometimes controversial – way in which it addressed topics such as sexuality, race, disability, mental health and others, as well as for its covers of songs such as “Don't Stop Believin”, “Teenage Dream”, “Somebody to Love”, “River Deep, Mountain High”, “Rumor Has It/Someone Like You”, and the number of guest stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Neil Patrick Harris and Ricky Martin, among others.

The series remains popular today, as does its music, which has an average of 4.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

The original cast included Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, Heather Morris, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Harry Shum Jr., Chord Overstreet, Mark Salling, Jayma Mays, Iqbal Theba and more.

Murphy recently told ET that he has: “Been in contact with about 10 of the original cast members,” so it is assumed that several of the aforementioned protagonists could be back with Michele. “It's very endearing; everyone had a lot of questions, but they were very enthusiastic about the idea,” Murphy announced.

For his part, Colfer, who played Kurt on the series, noted that returning to Glee would be difficult after Rivera's death, although he admitted that he would be willing to consider it, telling Bustle: “It was a really difficult show to do, and it would be even more difficult to do it now that Naya [Rivera] is no longer there. But I know the 'Glee' fans would probably come looking for me with pitchforks and 'jazz hand' gestures if I said no. So I don't know; I hope to have more information soon so I can reflect on it.”

Rivera died in 2020, at age 33, after tragically drowning in Lake Piru in California, while trying to save his young son, who had fallen into the water. His death was the third among the cast: Monteith died of an overdose in 2013, when the series was still broadcast, and Salling committed suicide in 2018, after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography.
