Hard to try a cornmeal cookie from this recipe and not want to repeat it!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole egg

  • 1 tablespoon cake yeast

  • 1 and 1/2 cup (tea) of mimoso cornmeal

  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine

  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 6 tablespoons of sugar

Directions

  • In a container add the sugar, egg, butter or margarine and mix well.
  • Add the cornstarch, cornmeal, yeast and mix again, kneading with clean hands.
  • Take portions of the dough with the help of a spoon and shape the cookies with the desired size and shape.
  • Place the cookies with space between them on a greased and floured baking sheet (press them lightly with a fork to make streaks if you prefer).
  • Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 180º₢ for approximately 20 to 25 minutes.
  • After removing them from the oven, wait for them to cool down before taking them out of the mold and the cornmeal cookies are ready.
