Ingredients
3/4 cup cocoa powder
2 cups of wheat flour
2 eggs
1 cup of milk
1 and 3/4 cups of sugar
1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
1 cup boiling water
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round mold with butter and flour.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla essence to the dry mixture.Â
Mix well until you get a homogeneous mass. - Add boiling water to the dough and mix again.Â
The dough will be liquid, but this is normal. - Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.Â
Then transfer it to a cooling rack and let it cool completely. - If you wish, you can decorate the cake with chocolate icing, whipped cream or sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
- Cut the cake into slices and serve.Â
