Ingredients
300g pasta (of your choice)
2 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons wheat flour
500ml of milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Grated nutmeg (optional)
Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Directions
- In a large pot, boil salted water.
Add pasta and cook according to package directions until “al dente”.
Run and book. - In another pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the wheat flour and stir well until you form a paste (roux). - Gradually add the milk to the pan, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
Keep stirring until the sauce starts to thicken. - Season the sauce with salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste.
Nutmeg is optional, but adds extra flavor to the white sauce. - Continue cooking the sauce over low heat, stirring regularly, until it reaches the desired consistency.
If it turns out too thick, you can add a little more milk. - When the sauce is ready, pour it over the cooked pasta and mix well so that all the noodles are covered.
- If desired, sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top of pasta in white sauce.
- To finish, sprinkle chopped parsley over the dish to add a touch of color and flavor.
- Serve the white sauce pasta immediately while it’s hot.
