Ingredients

  • 300g pasta (of your choice)

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • 2 tablespoons wheat flour

  • 500ml of milk

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Grated nutmeg (optional)

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions

  • In a large pot, boil salted water.
Add pasta and cook according to package directions until “al dente”.
    Run and book.
  • In another pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the wheat flour and stir well until you form a paste (roux).
  • Gradually add the milk to the pan, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
Keep stirring until the sauce starts to thicken.
  • Season the sauce with salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste.
Nutmeg is optional, but adds extra flavor to the white sauce.
  • Continue cooking the sauce over low heat, stirring regularly, until it reaches the desired consistency.
If it turns out too thick, you can add a little more milk.
  • When the sauce is ready, pour it over the cooked pasta and mix well so that all the noodles are covered.
  • If desired, sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top of pasta in white sauce.
  • To finish, sprinkle chopped parsley over the dish to add a touch of color and flavor.
  • Serve the white sauce pasta immediately while it’s hot.
