Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small cubes
4 to 6 tablespoons of ice water
8 sausages, cooked and cut into slices
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup corn (optional)
1/2 cup peas (optional)
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
3 eggs
1 cup of milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour and salt.
- Add the cold butter and mix until you have a crumb-like texture.
- Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, and stir until the dough starts to come together.
- Form the dough into a ball, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough until it is approximately the size of your pie pan.
- Transfer the dough to a greased pie pan and press it into the bottom and sides.Â
Remove excess dough. - Distribute the sausage slices, chopped onion, corn, peas and cheddar cheese over the dough in the pan.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, add the milk and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the egg and milk mixture over the ingredients in the pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the pie is golden and firm in the center.
- Let the pie cool slightly before cutting into slices.Â
