Ingredients

  • 1 large Italian bread (baguette)

  • 1/2 cup (120g) softened butter

  • 4 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 1/4 cup (15g) chopped fresh parsley

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Ground black pepper to taste

  • Grated parmesan cheese to taste (optional)

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. 
    Meanwhile, cut the Italian bread into slices, but without separating completely, forming a grid. 
    This will make it easier to apply the seasoning.
  • In a bowl, mix the softened butter, chopped garlic, parsley, salt and black pepper. 
    If desired, add grated Parmesan cheese for an extra touch of flavor.
  • Using a knife or brush, generously spread the garlic seasoning between the slices of bread, ensuring that the seasoning penetrates well.
  • Wrap the bread in aluminum foil, leaving the top open so the heat can penetrate. 
    Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is hot and the butter has melted.
  • If desired, open the foil on top of the bread and let it brown for another 5 minutes, so that the surface becomes crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and serve immediately. 
    Homemade Garlic Bread is a great option to accompany barbecues, soups or as an appetizer.
