We are less than a month away from learning the “story of a drug dealer whose plane crashes with a shipment of cocaine that is found by a black bear, who eats it,” also known as the horror comedy Cocaine Bearwhich marks the fourth feature film by Elizabeth Banks as director.

The film directed by Banks, and scripted by Jimmy Warden“it is Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug dealer’s plane crash, the missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it. This wacky black comedy finds a strange group of cops, criminals, tourists and teenagers converging in a Georgia forest. where a 500 pound black bear has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone berserk from more beatings and blood.”

If you are not familiar with the story, this premise will surely catch you or at least tempt your curiosity. And to hook you even more, Universal Pictures releases a new promotional, with glimpses of the black bear with the full effect of drug intake.

You can find the advance at the end of the note.

Meanwhile we tell you that the good cast is headed by Ray Liotta –in one of his last papers–Keri Russell, Margo Martindale, Alden Ehrenreich, Christopher Hivju, Matthew Rhys, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Isiah Whitlock Jr., Jesse Tyler Fergusonamong others.

Earlier, Banks shared some details to know about his movie:

Cocaine Bear is a horror comedy. There are a lot of horror tropes that we played with in the movie. You know, it’s a bear on cocaine that attacks people! But it’s also a really fun character piece. This is a large group of people who come together and are very much in their heads. Everyone goes after the drugs, and no one realizes that the bear got there first.

“[El guión de Jimmy Warden] it was so unique, and I thought it really offered me an opportunity to play in a genre that I hadn’t really considered before, and do something original..

“Cocaine Bear is super entertaining. If you want to drop everything in your life for 95 minutes, this is a great way to do it.. It’s an amazing adventure.

Universal Pictures will release Cocaine Bear in theaters the April 5, 2023.
