After the success achieved by Godzilla x Kong: The New EmpireLegendary has given green light for a new delivery of the MonsterVerse.

According to THR reports, Dave Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is writing the script for the franchise's sixth film.

The medium explains:

“Callaham knows a thing or two about Godzilla. The writer wrote early drafts and received the story credit for 2014's Godzilla, the film that started Legendary's monster craze.”

Callaham has written films such as The Expendablesthe reboot of Mortal Kombat, Wonder Woman 1984, Shang-Chi, y Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

The director of this sixth film has not been announced yet. However, Legendary has noted that he would like to see the return of Adam Wingarddirector of Godzilla vs Kong and of Godzilla x Kong. The report does not clarify whether it is a direct sequel to Godzilla x Kongor if a different story will be addressed.
