A24 has a new horror project coming out in theaters. We're talking about Hereticfrom the screenwriters and directors Scott Beck y Bryan Woods.

Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets, The Boogeyman), y Chloe East (The Fabelmans) star Hereticcon Hugh Grant (The Regime, Wonka, Glass Onion) as the big surprise playing the antagonistic role, for the first time in his long career.

The studio released a new trailer this morning, giving audiences a better look at Grant's villain.

The film had its world premiere earlier this month at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), with critics praising Grant's antagonistic role.

In addition to the trailer, available at the end of this note, A24 announced a new release date for Heretic. Now debuting in theaters on November 8, 2024thus bringing forward by one week its original release, which had been scheduled for November 15.

SYNOPSIS:

“Two young missionaries are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed, becoming trapped in his deadly game of cat and mouse.”

Beck and Woods are a duo known for being the co-writers –along with John Krasinski– of A Quiet Placescreenwriters and directors of Haunt, Nightlight, Spread, 65and an episode of 50 States of Fright. Most recently they wrote the script for the adaptation of Stephen King's material, The Boogeymanstarring Thatcher.

Not to forget, the premiere of Heretic in theaters was brought forward to November 8, 2024.
