Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups wheat flour

  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

  • 1 ¼ cups of milk

  • 1 egg

  • 3 tablespoons of melted butter

  • Oil or butter for greasing the skillet

  • Topping options: maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, chocolate, etc.

Directions

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  • In another bowl, lightly beat the egg and add the milk and melted butter. 
    Shake well.
  • Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. 
    Stir until you get a homogeneous mass. 
    Do not overmix, just enough to incorporate the ingredients.
  • Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. 
    If necessary, grease the skillet with a little oil or butter.
  • Pour approximately 1/4 cup of the batter into the hot skillet to form each pancake. 
    If you prefer bigger or smaller pancakes, adjust the amount of batter according to your taste.
  • Cook the pancakes for about 2-3 minutes, or until the underside is golden brown and some bubbles appear on the surface.
  • Flip the pancakes with a spatula and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until the other side is browned.
  • Repeat the process until all the dough is used. 
    If necessary, grease the skillet with a little more oil or butter between the pancakes.
  • Serve the pancakes hot with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream or chocolate.
