Ingredients
1 ½ cups wheat flour
3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 ¼ cups of milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons of melted butter
Oil or butter for greasing the skillet
Topping options: maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, chocolate, etc.
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
- In another bowl, lightly beat the egg and add the milk and melted butter.
Shake well. - Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
Stir until you get a homogeneous mass.
Do not overmix, just enough to incorporate the ingredients. - Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
If necessary, grease the skillet with a little oil or butter. - Pour approximately 1/4 cup of the batter into the hot skillet to form each pancake.
If you prefer bigger or smaller pancakes, adjust the amount of batter according to your taste. - Cook the pancakes for about 2-3 minutes, or until the underside is golden brown and some bubbles appear on the surface.
- Flip the pancakes with a spatula and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until the other side is browned.
- Repeat the process until all the dough is used.
If necessary, grease the skillet with a little more oil or butter between the pancakes. - Serve the pancakes hot with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream or chocolate.
