The game started with a balanced score. André and Renato had opportunities to build a sequence, but they failed in some attacks and serves. The first time Austria opened it was at 7-5. The second set started at a slightly slower pace, with more errors on both sides. Repeating the first half, the Brazilians took a lead in the middle of the set and continued to dominate from then on. The Austrians even attempted a reaction, but it was not enough.
