After starring the biopic Maria, Angelina Jolie He prepares for his next film project. It is an adaptation of the novel Anxious Peopleby the director Marc Forster (A Man Called Otto, World War Z).

The project will be taken to the Cannes market, with sales managed by Black Bear and Hope Studios. Black Bear will take care of the sale for the international market, said Deadline.

Based on the novel of Fredrik Backman, The inspirator comedy set on the eve of Christmas Evefollow the investment banquera, Zara (Jolie), reluctantly relating to a group of strangers in an open day. The script was adapted by David Magee (A Man Called Otto, Life of Pi, Finding Neverland).

Fredrik Wikström Nicastro and Renée Wolfe will produce the project, with Forster, Magee and Neda Backman as executive producers. Wikström Nicstro and Wolfe produced A Man Called Ottosuccessful adaptation of another Backman novel, directed by Forster.

Netflix made a TV series that adapts Backman's novel in 2021.

Wikström Nicastro said in a press release:

“Fredrik's novels talk about our shared humanity in a way that really moves the public, and we are proud to be able to offer another moving and fun adaptation of his work.”

Forster described the story as “Full of humor, feeling, chaos and unexpected hope.”

Oscar's winner, Jolie, won the Tony Award in 2024 as a producer of Broadway musical, The OutsidersIn addition, it generated noise towards Oscar for its leading role in the biopic of Maria Callas by Pablo Larraín.
