'Baywatch' reboot series releases trailer full of action, red swimsuits and slow motion

Fox released the first official full trailer for the reboot series Baywatchahead of its small screen launch scheduled for January 2027.

The preview introduces the new group of Baywatch, led by Captain Hobie Buchannon played by Stephen Amell (Arrow), next to Jessica Belkin (Elle, Dutton Ranch), Hassie Harrison (Dangerous Animals, Yellowstone), Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars), Thaddeus LaGrone (Mr. Irrelevant), Noah Beck (Sidelined: The QB and Me), Brooks Nader (Amnesia), Ashley Moore (serie I Know What You Did Last Summer) y Livvy Dunne making her debut as an actress.

Some members of the original cast are also scheduled to appear: David Chokachi will reprise his role as Cody Madison, while Erika Eleniak, Michael Bergin y Kelly Packard They will return as guest stars.

This new version features Hobie Buchannon (Amell), a classic character with a rebellious spirit, as the captain of the Baywatch, following in the footsteps of his father, the legendary Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff in the original series). Hobie's world is turned upside down when his daughter, Charlie Vale (Belkin), shows up unexpectedly, eager to continue the Buchannon family legacy.

The original series, owned by Fremantle, premiered in 1989 and aired for 11 seasons. At its peak, it became the most watched series in the world; It was broadcast in more than 200 countries, reaching a weekly audience of more than one billion viewers. Its global appeal boosted tourism in Southern California and helped define beach culture for generations, in addition to launching its protagonists, including David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, to stardom.

Fox's reboot pays tribute to the franchise's enduring legacy while revitalizing it for today's global audience. Fans can expect all the adrenaline of rescues, convoluted relationships, complex chemistry and beachside heroism that characterized the original series, now with a totally new cast, contemporary elementsnew tensions and challenges, and a renewed mission: protect the southern California coastline.

The first season consists of 12 episodes, produced by Fremantle and Fox Entertainment.

The new version is co-created by Matt Nix, Lara Olsen y Gregory J. Bonann. Nix will also be the showrunner and executive producer.

McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz are also executive producers. McG directed the pilot.

Baywatch It premieres in January 2027 on Fox in the United States and on Prime Video in Latin America.
