The Bells Echo series returns in April to the place where it premiered in 2015 – to the Lindenau Phillippus Church. This time there is an exclusive Germany show by an ambient hero. We're giving away tickets for it.
We have been supporting Bells Echo in the media since the beginning. And since 2015, the series has been dedicated to the ambient and experimental genres with great artistic expertise. In the beginning, the hosts Alex Röser, Stefkovic vaninterest and GenPi also developed their own productions, but now they curate concerts with better-known names in the scene with the side series “Bells Echo iiinteriiim”.
There will be another edition on April 19th. Again in the Philippuskirche in Lindenau – where Bells Echo began nine years ago. After the church was renovated, the opulent room is open again. Two acts are on the line-up this time:
William Basinski
William Basinski is an American experimental musician and composer known for his minimalist compositions and soundscapes. His highlight came with “The Disintegration Loops,” a series of ambient works consisting of old tape recordings that gradually disintegrate. Other important works include “A Shadow in Time” and “Cascade”. Basinski's work explores the transience and beauty of sound. On April 19th he will create a unique sound from analog tapes and their manipulation. With pieces from classical music, opera and field recordings.
Maria W Horn
The Swedish composer and musician Maria W Horn has made a name for herself with her avant-garde electronic and orchestral works. Her career includes diverse projects, including collaborations with renowned artists. Their climax manifests itself in “Kontrapoetik”, an album that presents a dark atmosphere and complex sound structures. Horn's work explores the boundaries of sound and space, often combining elements of drone, noise and contemporary classical.
