The three representatives from Brazil – Cruzeiro, Campinas and Minas – ended their participation in the group stage of the South American volleyball tournament this Thursday (26). Each team won its two games and advanced to the semifinals stage of the competition, which takes place in Campinas (SP) for the first time.

To secure their place, in games valid for the second round, Cruzeiro beat Defensores de Banfield (ARG) by 3 sets to 0 (25/14, 25/18 and 25/21) and, subsequently, Minas beat Ciudad Voley (ARG) by 3 to 1 (22/25, 25/23, 25/21 and 30/28). In the match that closed the day, host Campinas beat San Lorenzo by 3 sets to 0 (25/18, 25/18 and 25/13).

Dispute format
In each group, the three teams face each other in a single round. At the end of the competitions, the first three placed and the second best advance to the semi-finals, and so on until the final. The champion and runner-up guarantee their places in this year's Club World Cup.
