To make your Eggless Cake, use the ingredients below and follow the step-by-step preparation instructions.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon powdered yeast

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (such as canola oil or soybean oil)

  • 1 cup of water

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • Additional ingredients to taste, such as fruit, nuts, chocolate, or lemon zest (optional)

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with oil or butter and sprinkle with flour to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • In another bowl, combine water, vegetable oil, apple cider vinegar and vanilla extract (if using).
  • Pour the liquid ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until you obtain a homogeneous dough. 
    If desired, add any additional ingredients of your choice, such as fruit, nuts or chocolate.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes. 
    Then, unmold the cake and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Once the cake is completely cold, you can decorate it to taste with icing, fresh fruit, icing sugar, or whatever you prefer.
