The biopic Saturday Nightalready has a new official trailer.
Sony Pictures continues with the marketing campaign for the biopic focused on the origin story of the 1975 premiere of the iconic live show Saturday Night Live o SNLco-written and directed by Jason Reitman (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Juno, Tully).
The biopic begins at 30 Rockefeller Center at 10 p.m. ET on October 11, 1975 and covers the 90 minutes leading up to the first taping.
The trailer offers a glimpse of the chaos we are about to see in those minutes before the recording of the first SNL, is available at the end of the note.
The stellar cast is headed by Gabriel LaBelle (The Fabelmans), playing the creator and producer of SNL, Lorne Michaelscon Willem Dafoe (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), Matthew Rhys (The Americans), Nicholas Braun (Succession), J.K. Reitman directs the script he co-wrote with Gil Kenan (Ghostbusters: Afterlife).
Reitman, Kenan, Jason Blumenfeld and Peter Rice serve as producers. Erica Mills and JoAnn Perritano serve as executive producers.
Michaels was the showrunner of SNL from 1975 to 1980. In 1985 he resumed this work and continues to this day.
SNL has received a total of 314 Emmy nominations, with 84 wins. It has been responsible for launching the careers of comedians such as Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, and many more.
Sony Pictures releases Saturday Night he October 11 in theaters.
