Ingredients

  • 500g diced chicken breast

  • 200g sliced ​​fresh mushrooms (optional)

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 2 minced garlic cloves

  • 3 tablespoons of butter

  • 1 cup of milk cream

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Chopped parsley to garnish

Directions

  • In a pan, heat the vegetable oil and half the butter over medium heat. 
    Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until golden.
  • Add chicken to pan and sauté until cooked through and browned on all sides.
  • If using mushrooms, add them to the pan and sauté for a few more minutes until they are soft.
  • Add the ketchup, mustard and Worcestershire sauce to the pan, mixing well so that the chicken and mushrooms are coated in the sauce.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the cream, stirring gently to incorporate the rest of the ingredients.
  • Cook for another 5 minutes, until the sauce is hot and slightly thick. 
    Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add the rest of the butter and stir until it melts and blends into the sauce.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and garnish with chopped parsley.
  • Serve the chicken stroganoff accompanied by white rice, straw potatoes or pasta, according to your preference.
