Sumerian Pictures released the official full trailer of the drama Josephinefrom the screenwriter and director Beth de Araújo (Soft & Quiet).

Starring Channing Tatum (Roofman, Blink Twice), Gemma Chan (Eternals, The Five Star Weekend) and the debut of the little girl Mason Reeves playing Josephine.

The plot follows Josephine's parents forced to deal with how their little girl is going through a sudden emotional upheaval. It all stems from a Saturday morning, in which Josepine witnesses an attack in the San Francisco park where they usually go running.

The triggering incident is loosely based on a real event that the screenwriter and director of Araújo experienced during her youth. However, the direction that she—and the film—gives to the consequences of this event is the result of the filmmaker's extraordinary ability to explore how power and evil move so freely through our world.

The project celebrated its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January of this year, and has toured the festival circuit to high praise. After its premiere at Sundance, Sumerian Pictures acquired it for distribution in theaters in the United States, in a competitive bid.

Take a look at the trailer at the end of the note.
