Ingredients

  • 2 cups of white rice

  • 4 cups of water

  • 1/2 cup raisins

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  • 1/2 cup sliced ​​almonds

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 4 cloves

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper to taste

  • Chopped parsley to decorate

Directions

  • Wash the rice under running water and set aside.
  • In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. 
    Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they are golden.
  • Add the walnuts, almonds and raisins to the pan, stirring well to combine with the onion and garlic.
  • Add the rice to the mixture in the pan and stir for a few minutes, so the rice absorbs the flavors.
  • Add the water to the pan, along with the cinnamon stick, cloves, salt and black pepper. 
    Shake well.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. 
    Cover the pan and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is completely cooked and the water has been absorbed.
  • After cooking, remove the cinnamon stick and cloves.
  • Transfer the rice to a serving platter and garnish with chopped parsley.
