Ingredients
2 cups of white rice
4 cups of water
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 medium onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
1 cinnamon stick
4 cloves
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Chopped parsley to decorate
Directions
- Wash the rice under running water and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they are golden. - Add the walnuts, almonds and raisins to the pan, stirring well to combine with the onion and garlic.
- Add the rice to the mixture in the pan and stir for a few minutes, so the rice absorbs the flavors.
- Add the water to the pan, along with the cinnamon stick, cloves, salt and black pepper.
Shake well. - Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
Cover the pan and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is completely cooked and the water has been absorbed. - After cooking, remove the cinnamon stick and cloves.
- Transfer the rice to a serving platter and garnish with chopped parsley.
