minutesHere is a classic Cod with Cream recipe:
Ingredients
500g desalted and shredded codfish
1 kg of potatoes
2 medium onions, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons of butter
3 tablespoons wheat flour
500ml of milk
200ml cream (milk cream)
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Nutmeg to taste
Grated cheese (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Peel the potatoes, cut them into thick slices and cook in salted water until soft.
Run and book. - In a large pan, heat the butter and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
- Add the shredded codfish to the pan and sauté for a few minutes.
Reserve. - In another pan, prepare a white sauce: melt 2 tablespoons of butter, add the wheat flour and stir well.
Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
Cook until the sauce thickens. - Season the white sauce with salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste.
- Add the cream (milk cream) to the white sauce and mix well.
- In a refractory, place a layer of boiled potatoes, followed by a layer of braised cod.
Repeat the layers until you run out of ingredients. - Pour the white sauce over the layers of potatoes and cod, making sure to cover completely.
- If desired, sprinkle grated cheese on top of the dish.
- Bake in preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
