Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cornmeal

  • 1 cup wheat flour

  • 2 cups of sugar

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round mold with butter and flour.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cornmeal, wheat flour, sugar and salt.
  • Add the milk, oil and eggs to the dry mixture. 
    Stir well until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • Lastly, add the baking powder and mix gently.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface with a spatula.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cake cool for a few minutes before unmolding.
  • Serve the cornmeal cake in slices and enjoy!
