2 cups of wheat flour
2 cups of sugar
1 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 cup of hot water
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round pan with butter and flour.
- In a large bowl, sift the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.Â
Mix well. - In another bowl, mix the milk, oil, eggs and vanilla essence until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
- Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until the batter is well combined.
- Gradually add hot water to the dough, stirring constantly.Â
The dough will be quite liquid, but this is normal. - Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for approximately 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- While the cake bakes, prepare the frosting.Â
In a saucepan, mix the sugar, cocoa powder and milk.Â
Place over medium-low heat and simmer for a few minutes, stirring constantly. - Remove the pan from the heat and add the butter and vanilla essence.Â
Stir until the butter is completely melted and the frosting is smooth and shiny. - When the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before taking it out of the pan.
