NEON and Topic Studios have launched a new comedy about living an open marriage titled Splitsvillefor which they have signed Dakota Johnson (Madame Web, Materialists) y Adria Arjona (Hit Man, Blink Twice) in leading roles.
Michael Corvino directs the feature film with a script co-written with Kyle Marvinmarking a new collaboration between the two after having made The Climb (2019).
Corvino and Marvin are also part of the cast along with those mentioned.
Marvin plays Carey, who is asked for a divorce by his wife Ashley (Arjona). When Carey seeks advice from his friends, Julie (Johnson) and Paul (Covino), he discovers that the secret to his happiness is an open marriage. But when Carey tries it on his own with Ashley and ends up crossing a line, it sends all of his relationships into chaos.
This is a new collaboration between NEON and Topic Studios, after having done Infinity Pool (2023).
NEON, Topic Studios, Covino and Marvin are producing the film alongside Emily Korteweg, Johnson, Ro Donnelly, and Samantha Racanelli. Arjona and Paul Barbeau are executive producers.
NEON will distribute Splitsville in the United States with a date set for 2025.
Filming is set to begin in the fall.
Sales for international distribution will take place at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
