The post -apocalyptic bestseller The Stand of Stephen King He prepares to reach the big screen, with the film adaptation launched by Paramount Picturescon Doug Liman as director.

Liman is the project director such as Edge of Tomorrow, The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, American Made, The Wall, Swingers, Goand more recently, Road Housey The Instigators.

The novel published for the first time in 1978, was previously adapted as Television Miniseries for ABC in 1994, starring Gary Sinise, Molly Ringwald, Rob Lowe, Ruby Dee and Laura San Giacomo, and later in 2020 for CBS All Access (now Paramount+), starring James Marsden, Odessa Young, Alexander Skarsgard, Whoopi Goldberg and Amber Heard.

However, the epic magnitude of history has hindered previous efforts to adapt The Stand To a movie. Ben Affleck, Scott Cooper, David Yates, Josh Boone and George A. Romero have been some of the filmmakers who have previously been linked to make the film.

This will be the first film adaptation of The Standand Liman's first collaboration with Paramount Pictures.

Tyler Thompson of Creek Pictures will produce the feature film.
