
The hero that the world needs is not exactly one that saw a red layer, but a very green toxic hero.
He cult classic The Toxic Avenger of Troma Entertainment, returns this year to cinemas with A written and directed reboot by Macon Blair (Green Room, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore).
The premiere in American cinemas is scheduled for the month of August with a wide premiere and UNRATED VERSIONcourtesy of Cineversewhich acquired the distribution rights in cinema and streaming in the US and Canada, with an agreement made with Legendary Entertainment. Below there is more information about the UNRATED version.
A couple of months of the cinemas launch, the reset marketing campaign continues with the debut of a RED BAND TRAILER that is not measured in gore and violence.

The protagonist of this reimagination is Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), giving life to Winston Goze, a low -level employee in a chemical factory that later becomes the toxic avenger, Toxie, “the hero we need now.”
They accompany him Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings) y Kevin Bacon (Tremors) as the brothers Fritz and Bob Garbinger, respectively, Jacob Tremblay (Room), Taylour Paige (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Sarah Niles (I May Destroy You), Jonny Coyne (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), y Julia Davis (Sally4Ever).
Official synopsis:
“While the original film followed the fate of Melvin Ferd Junko III (Mitch Cohen), who goes from zero to toxic hero in a case of harassment that went wrong, the contemporary approach of Macon Blair follows a horribly deformed creature of superhuman size and own force.
“Peter Dinklage plays the oppressed concierge Winston Goze who, after falling into a tub of toxic waste, becomes nothing less than The Toxic Avenger. This timely reinvention is up to the height of environmental issues, since Winston faces the evil forces of greed and corruption to save his son, his friends already his community.”
“Although this story exists in its own terms, the spirit, without a doubt, remains connected to the original. Troma fans, ancient and new, will be happy to know that the film has been classified as” R “by violence and blood, according to the tradition of troma.”
The toxic avenger It is produced by the founders of Troma, Lloyd Kaufman y Michael Herz (Director of the original of 1984), together with Mary Parent, Alex García. The executive producers are Andrew Pfeffer, Jay Ashenfelter and Macon Blair.
The UNRATED VERSION o No classification (NR)assures the audience that the original vision is being given and unchanged, with all the uncensored gore, of the Blair film. One of the recent examples of UNRATED versions are Terrifier 2 y Terrifier 3 of Damien Leone, curiously also distributed by Cineverse.
